Vans Warped Tour Experience Concert On 7/30/11 Post Of The Week. (August 6th 2011)

Okie dokie
Now let me just say a quick thank you yo Kevin Lyman for letting this all happen. I won a contest called "Kevin Says Venture"  if you don't know who Kevin Lyman is then I suggest you Google him. This man is a legend. He was the founder of  THE  Vans Warped Tour. Fortunately I DID have a chance to meet this man, but I was dehydrated in the outside heat of what is Florida. So I wasn't able to get to the tent where one of my many heroes was chilling at. I did see him later on but I didn't have the guts to thank him in person and go and say hello. I hope somehow he reads this someday and sees how grateful I am that he made one of my biggest hopes come true.

Whoops I should stop rambling on. Okay so I was actually sad when i heard Vans Warped Tour was coming around and I had to wait till next year to experience what is WARPED TOUR. I'm not going to say the day of Warped was the best day of my life, because honestly IT WAS NOT.
But then I heard about the contest, so I entered. Lucky me I won. I've never won anything in my life so you can see how excited I was!

I had planned on  seeing some bands but only got to see 2. I started off the day with Asking Alexandria. They are honestly a great band. Check them out THEY ARE WORTH IT. Danny Worsnop (Frontman and lead singer) seems to be a man of few words. He lets his music speak for him. I REALLY REALLY REALLY wanted to see the band The Ready Set, but didn't because I was stupid enough to not see that Asking Alexandria would cut into it and so I missed them. Even though it was mostly my sister's fault who dragged me into Asking Alexandria in the first place. It was my first time being in a crowd. Like General Admission. It was cool and Head Banging. Hehe. Literally. Pushing seemed to be fun when listening to Hardcore...haha. Just kidding I know how rough it can get, and as a tip don't get to close to the Mosh Pit! We were pretty close to the stage. And right before they started playing..BOOOM a water bottle gets thrown and water hits the back of my sisters head. Random? Yes. After one song my chaperone had, had enough! And sadly right when we got out my favorite song of theirs was the one they were starting to play.

I had gotten dehydrated at around 3:30 P.M and my sister was out of it and suggested we go home. But I was not going to miss the chance of seeing Of Mice & Men one of my favorite bands in the whole world. Sadly we had to wait till 7:00 P.M to see them! So we decided to catch some Z's at the huge main stage near the entrance. I got to see a band I had heard of but never bothered to listen to, and now I wish I had. D.R.U.G.S. as maybe some of you may know "Destroy Rebuild Until God Shows" They were crazy and fun and It was cool getting to listen to them while I laid down for a bit. But I wasn't going to be completely bored the ENTIRE time waiting! There are a bunch of tents Skull Candy Tent, Monster Tent, TROJAN Tent, Kia Tent, Keep A Breast Tent. My sister's boyfriend (Other sister's boyfriend) who has the body of a bear knocked a girl down when trying to grab the skull candy headphones they through into a small group of people, since they were giving them away.

ATTACK ATTACK! Was a band I got to listen to while I was at the Monster Energy Drink truck. Free Monster anyone? I had really liked that band before the lead singer, Nick left the band. And the guitar player Whose name I can't remember, who was the Clean vocalist and guitar player had left as well, for Religious reasons.

The Lead singer for the band Of Mice & Men, Austin Carlile was the one who created A.A! But left after some unfortunate events.  The only souvenir I have from that long day is the cap of the can of the Monster I drank.

Anyway, when the time came to watch Of Mice & Men I wanted to get REALLLYYY close but my Chaperone (A.K.A  other Sister's boyfriend) Didn't want to let me after he saw how hard core it got when we watched Asking Alexandria. We were pretty far, and if I could go back I would have gotten A LOTTT closer. They were truly the best part of the night/day. They were fun and loud but not too rough. Check them out they are worth it.
I was getting a bit confused when they started the song..Cause they put rap and hip hop before the song started and none of the members were out yet. But soon enough Austin Carlile took the stage.
I had saved a water bottle in my bag just to throw into the pit! It hit a guy in the head.....Sorry Guy. But I got my Karma. He through another one back. Good thing he doesn't suck at throwing it went right over my head!
We ended up having to wait an hour and a half before being picked up. We were some of the last ones there, At the end of the night when waiting for our ride, my sisters boyfriend made us sit on the grass.....He thought I was crazy for thinking I had stepped/sat on an ant hill. BUT I did. Not a fun way to end the night. Tired, wet, bitten, THIRSTY. But it was fun. And I'll never forget it! Make it next year guys. It's worth it. This is Captain Sarah Sighing off.
